Lake Manyara National Park is a protected area in Tanzania's Arusha and Manyara Regions, situated between Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley. It is administered by the Tanzania National Parks Authority and covers an area of 325 km2 including about 230 km2 of the lake surface. More than 350 bird species have been observed on the lake.

Populations of large migratory mammals that are concentrated primarily in Tarangire National Park, but also move through Lake Manyara National Park include wildebeest, zebra, Thomson's gazelle, and Grant's gazelle. Large herds of wildebeest and other plains game from the Mto wa Mbu Game Controlled Area enter the park from the north for short periods.

  The game drive is one of the popular activities in the park where visitors get an opportunity to explore the park in a 4WD pop-up safari vehicle with a professional driver guide.

  Bird watching:

  Lake Manyara national park is one of the top birding destinations in Tanzania because it’s home to more than 400  recorded bird species including migratory birds from Europe, water birds, endemic species, and near-endemic birds.

  Night game drives:

  Lake Manyara national park is one of the few national parks in Tanzania that offer an exciting night game drive and activity where visitors will be able to explore the park at night with an armed park ranger and spotlight torches for clear viewing of nocturnal animals.

  Canoeing on Lake Manyara:

  Lake Manyara national park offers canoe rides where you will paddle quietly along the lake shores in a two-man canoe with an experienced guide.

Watching wildlife in Lake Manyara National Park is good all year, but at its best from late June to October, during the Dry season. However, this very scenic park is at its most beautiful during the Wet season, from November to May, when the vegetation is lush and waterfalls cascade down the escarpment.
